AT&T Wireless Home Phone - AT&T HD Voice availability?

Does AT&T have any plans to upgrade the wireless home phone service to allow for AT&T HD Voice in supported areas?

Hello @STL314,

I can certainly understand your desire to use HD voice services on your wireless home phone. Unfortunately at this time, there are only specific mobile cellphones are designed to utilize this feature.

I hope you find this helpful let us know if you have any other questions.

The hardware must have VOLTE capabilities built in. There is no way to upgrade devices that don't have it. The WF720 and WF721 do not have HD Voice but the WHPI unit does. The Z700A.

Thanks for the information!  Will AT&T sell me the Z700A without a data plan to use for HD Voice only?

Certainly they will. I have encountered plenty of people who use it voice only. It will work on the $20 WHP plan just the same, plus VOLTE. Now if you're on a Unlimited Plus plan you can add that to the plan for the exact same cost and get data. Otherwise it will work voice only if you prefer.

Well today my 2 year commitment was up on the wireless home phone service and I called to upgrade to the Z700A unit for 4G calling without a data plan and was told that it was impossible to do.  The representative and the manager both said the system would not let them order without a data plan.  I guess it is time to seek a more caring wireless provider.
