AT&T Unite - Automatic Shut-Off

Hello,

I have the AT&T Unite Hotspot.

Is there a basic, advanced, or "hack" so I can have it automatically turn OFF (not just go on standby) after a certain amount of time of inactivity like 15 minutes or 30 minutes?

How can I do this?

Conversely, how can I have it turn ON automatically when it receives power via USB?

Is there a particular reason you wish to do this, like to save battery life, or stopping access?

From what I've found there does not appear to be an option for that.

As far as a "hack", if you usually use it on a USB tether to a computer, you might try pulling the battery from it and forcing it to use USB for power. That way, when your computer goes to sleep, the Unite should power down, provided your computer is set to remove power from the USB ports when in sleep mode.

Joe,

I want to use the hotspot in my truck to put out wi-fi for my Pioneer NEX-4000 with AppRadio Unchained Reloaded.

Your suggestion to take the battery out was great and was exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks!
