att free phone

I was sent a free phone ,flip phone, because of disbaning 3G, I talked to a lady at at&t and she told me my phone was ready to go when I got it all I had to do was call 611 on my old phone it would work until I got my new phone. She told and she had me call a number on my phone and she made sure my new phone was ready to go. the sim card in embedded in my new phone but I can not get a human to help with the activeation of my new phone. What do I do. Can I get it done at an att store close by me.

The SIM card is not embedded in any At&t flip phone.  You should have been sent a new SIM with directions on how to activate. 

Have you installed the battery?

The SIM goes under the battery.

I understand what you mean by embedded, I assume you got the Cingular Flip IV - there is actually a tiny tab of plastic right in front of the slot that is keeping the sim card locked in place, you'll need to push that tab down in order to slide your card out. I find it a big hassle, so your best bet for full service may just to be to take it to a store, I have little fingers and tools for handling electronics and even I found it difficult to slide this card out.
