Thanks for reaching back out to us with the update Csfluharty!

Yes, AT&T works with bring your own devices. The devices have to be unlocked to work on our network. Please ensure that the device is not locked to another network, since you are receiving the message that your device IMEI is not recognized. Your device should also be a 4G/5G capable device as we have phased out of the 3G network to make room for an even better network.

If this does not work, check out our available security cameras for an upgrade. Reach back out to us if you have additional questions.

Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!

Thank you for the follow up, !

Make sure that you're attempting to scan the QR code correctly such as moving closer or farther from the device, decrease or increase the brightness, and make sure your device is leveled with the surface that the code is printed on. Also, try factory resetting your Arlo camera. Please keep in mind you're using a device you purchased from a third party which may be the cause of error. If all fails, we recommend reaching back out to Arlo Support for additional troubleshooting because there may be a defect with the device.

We hope this information helps!

Thank you for returning to the AT&T Community!

I have tried on the computer and phone and it still fails.  When I try to scan it it gives me a failing sound and flashes amber quickly and then stops flashing.

Thank you for the update, @Csfluharty.

The Arlo Go Camera LED lights in different colors to indicate how the camera is operating.

  • Solid amber: No SIM card is inserted or the SIM card is damaged or not active. During a sync, the battery charge is low or during the motion detection test, motion is detected.
  • Blinking amber: Mobile network coverage is not available.
  • Slow blinking amber: The battery level is low.
  • Double blinking amber: The battery level is so low that it is critical.
  • Blinking amber and purple: The SD card type is invalid.
  • Blinking amber and blue: The camera is receiving a firmware upgrade.
  • Fast blinking amber: The camera connected to the cellular network but it
cannot connect to the cloud.During a QR code scan, the scan failed. During battery charging, the charge failed. For more information about connecting to the cloud, visit tinyurl.com/h8csb5a

Again, we do recommend reaching out to Arlo Support for further assitance.

Hope this helps. Thank you for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.

Thank you for reaching back out with the update, @Csfluharty.

If you are getting an error code that your Arlo Go Camera is not an AT&T service camera, may be the reason you are unable to connect.

We can use some additional information to see if your Arlo Go Camera is a compatible device that can be used on our network. We will need your model number of the device. If the device is from another carrier, it may be incompatible with AT&T services due to its bands/frequencies. Different carries use different bands/frequencies which can make the device incompatible with other carriers network.

Also, you may just need to upgrade your device with a camera that is compatible with our network.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi ! Here is how to get your camera working over our network.

First, you will want to remove the image containing your device's IMEI from public view so that the information that identifies your device or is linked to you won't be compromised.

Next, reach back out and let us know the following:

  • What happens when the device won't connect? The Netgear Arlo Go (VML4030) uses a Micro-SIM card. You can find information about it by visiting Specifications for the Arlo Go (VML4030). If the SIM card is incorrect, it is recommended that you replace your SIM at your nearest AT&T Store.
    • After a successful QR code scan, it can help to restart the camera by unplugging it then plugging it back in. If you still need assistance, try removing the camera from the Settings of your phone then resync it. For assistance with setting up your device for the first time or after having done a factory reset, visit Device Setup.
      • There, you will find the following instructions: Before setting up your device, make sure you have completed the online activation process. Please see Activate phone, SIM card, or device for more information.

What's more, if the camera flashes amber during a QR code scan, that means the scan failed. The camera lens might have debris or a smudge on it, hindering its ability to scan the QR code.

Use a lint-free cloth to remove anything that might prevent the camera from scanning the QR code. If your QR code is scratched, damaged, or unreadable, contact Arlo Support.

Try this and let us know how it goes. We want to make sure that you can use your device over our network.
