A simple answer is no. If you love the phone try Verizon or T-Mobile. That phone will not be allowed activation on At&t. AT&T's version of voice over LTE has a different codec.   Other manufacturers are getting their phones certified so that they will work, Nokia has not done that with any of their phones.

We want to look into a resolution for you, @BarryEM!

In order to provide adequate support, we want to know more about your experience:

  • Are you an AT&T customer and trying to activate your own device? Are you receiving any error messages in the process? This will help us identify the primary cause in order to arrive at a solution.

Give this a try and let us know how it worked!

Yes.

I'm a brand-new pre-paid customer, and even though the G10 is on the list of approved post-sunset devices, when I popped the SIM in it didn't work. I could connect with full signal to LTE and 4G. SMS worked, but MMS did not, calls could not be connected (auto ended), and no data could go through the browser. The phone would prompt me to "SIGN INTO NETWORK - ATT", which would take me to the SIM/IMEI registration page. Completing this did nothing.

I was bounced around a lot between phone and store, the former telling me by SIM card was 3G (it wasn't), the latter telling my SIM card was "discontinued" (it wasn't). Another phone tech de- and re-registered my SIM, but there was no change.

As a last ditch effort, I threw the SIM into an old iPhone SE (2016). SMS came in fine. I tried to make a call TO the iPhone from my work phone. It didn't ring.

When I tried to make a call out from the SE, I was greeted with a message "...thank you for Choosing AT&T prepaid..." and the call was disconnected.

After that point, MMS, SMS, Phone and Data worked flawlessly. I swapped the SIM over to the Nokia G10, and it reads full bars, VOLTE, and has no problems.

Good Luck.

Until att sweeps imei again.

Truly, hope this is a permanent solution for you, but it's At&t, so 🔩🗑️🚽

How often does that go down?

Ill trust that you know more than I, but the IMEI was always labeled as being OK, from what Customer Support said.

@formerlyknownas

That G10 is on the approved list.  ATT keeps messing with things.
