All texts disappeared from Pantech P2050! How to recover?

I have a 6-year-old Pantech P2050. Today all of my SMS text messages disappeared. I'm still receiving notifications for them, but the messages seem to instantly delete or something. The Memory menu says I have 0, but yesterday it was over 200. How can they be recovered?

Greetings @CaptHayfever,

Thanks for reaching out to us in regards to trying to recover your SMS text messages. We hate to hear that your messages disappeared.

  • Is this the first time out of the 6 years you had the phone, that the messages disappeared?
  • Have you backedup your phone and restore it before?
  • Did you turn on/off your phone to see if that helps?

It was the first time, yes.

Turning the phone off & back on again restored all the old messages, and then the dozens of new ones that I got notifications for during the crash period all came flowing in over the course of about 10 minutes.
How can I prevent this from happening again?

Hello @CaptHayfever,

Thank you for your response.

Have you tried Troubleshooting your device? It may be a tech concern with your device that causes your messages to not send immediately. Our Trouble Shoot & Resolve tool will find that concern if any and provide possible resolutions.

Did you try to free up your memory and see if your able to receive your messages immediately? When your memory becomes full it may trigger the issue occurring.

Also, try deleting your messages frequently and see if this concern still remains.

Please let us know how it goes.
