Wireless Hot Spot associated phone number
I set up a new wireless internet service. When all was said and done I received my wireless hot spot in the mail. On the box was printed: WIRELESS#: 479-746-XXXX (I put X's in place of the actual numbers) Now here's the problem. I have no idea where they got this phone number or who's number it is. When I finally got through to the wireless support people and asked about this number I was told it's just the number associated with the account for reference and nothing else. That answer was fine until I tried to register my account. In step 2 of the registration they would send me a pas code to complete the process. Only problem is they would text the code to the mysterious phone number they made up. I can live without registering my account but I keep getting emails telling me to register to make my life easier. There is no support to rectify this problem nor is there any person I can contact to explain it. My life was a lot easier until I got involved with AT&T. Any suggestions?

@bugsy812 All hotspots have a "phone" number assigned to it, it doesn't mean you can make calls, but it needs a "line"/"number".

What about when they said during registration they would text a pass code to that number. The infamous number that belongs to no one?

Sorry, I read that and wasn't going to reply and then got distracted and forgot about it (and replied anyways).
I'd log into the hotspot on the off chance you can somehow read the text via the web interface. (I can't on mine but I thought I read once someone could do this with one of the devices)

From the home screen>swipe to, then tap About.Tap Device Info and the wirless number will be displayed.
You can also check out our device support page that will allow you to select your device and get a more personalized solution.
