How do I retrieve a forgotten admin password or reset it on a Netgear Nighthawk MR1100?

I cannot access my admin account for my Netgear Nighthawk MR1100, tired the default password (attadmin) and the one I believe I changed it to - neither one is accepted.  Can't get to it either through the app or via a web browser.  The hotspot suddenly stopped allowing my computer to access the Internet (it will connect to other devices and allow Internet access), my thought was there is a software upgrade missing that would fix the problem, but no way to know if I can't get at the account.

Hi, @TheFairLadyAside, we're here to help you access your Netgear Nighthawk M1100.

 

Where was the Netgear M1100 hotspot purchased from? Here is some information on resetting your password to connect to an AT&T hotspot. 

There is a chance that the password was changed due if device was purchased from a third party. If the password has been changed and or forgotten your Admin Login Password, you can perform a factory reset to change the Admin Login Password back to "attadmin".

  • To perform a factory reset, on the mobile hotspot, tap Settings > About > Factory Reset > Factory Reset > OK.

In addition, you can reach out to Netgear support for additional steps in the user guide to for manufacter options to reset.
