How can I add an authorized user to my account?

I tried to add my daughter (currently on my plan) as an authorized user. It's says I cannot do that online. She wants to move her phone from our family plan to her own plan. How do we do that when the stores are not open?

Hello, @Zollie,

Thank you for reaching out. You can learn who to determine who can manage accounts online at myAT&T. Follow these steps:

  1. Sign into your myAT&T account.
  2. Go to your Profile and select Account users.
  3. Choose your wireless account, if you have more than one account.
  4. In Authorized users, select Manage authorized users.
  5. Select Add an authorized user.
  6. Complete the fields to receive a verification code.

From your description , it sounds like she needs a transfer of billing responsibility.

Have a great weekend.

How can I be added as an authorized user on my ex husbands account? He is incarcerated so we don’t know how to go about that. The reason he wants to add me is to manage the account and because our son also has a phone on the account. Please help

Wow...that's a quandary. Is he able to give you the log in info so you can log in to the account and then follow the directions above?

Hello @Malina30, we'd be glad to help with your concerns!

As @MicCheck stated, if he's able to provide you with the login information for the account you can do the following steps:

We hope this helps and thanks for reaching out to the AT&T Community!

I don’t believe he can because he doesn’t know it by heart. Is that the only way it could be done?

Thanks for your response, @Malina30.

Yes that's the only way it can be done, as we're unable to make those changes without him present or his authorization.

Sorry for this inconvenience.

Ok thank you so much. Also, what if he could call customer service from prison? Would he be able to have them add me that way? I just want to know all the options

No problem, @Malina30.

Unfortunately, that wouldn't be an option as we do not accept calls from jail or prisons. We do apologize for this inconvenience!

Can he give you the PIN that's required when calling customer service? If so, "he" can call...he'll just have to "use" your phone and will sound an awful lot like you (if you catch my drift). "He" can then add you as an authorized user over the phone.
