USB800 No Internet

So I've had an old grandfathered in Data account for the past 9 years.  It worked great until 2 weeks ago when it stopped connecting to the Internet.  I was using an ATT Froce4G wireless modem.  We tried different Sim Cards and still would not connect. We even replaced the modem with a new Force4G and still no connection.

It was suggested that I try the new USB800  and after checking I was told that it was compatible with my plan.  Everything connected and showed the modem was ready but still would not connect.  Tech support worked several hours to try to fix the issue.  They sent me a new modem and I now have the same issue.   I am thinking that it is something to do with my AT&T plan and it won't see the modem  (however tech support says it is working and compatible)  They have escalated it up to back office or room or something like that and will call me in 24-48 hrs.  I am not holding my breath on that.  So I turn to the forum

Any thoughts on a fix would help as I have no other source of the Internet except my cell phone which is draining data by the minute .

Thanks

Pat

Hello, @abbea,

Thank you for reaching out. We'd love to help with this. Which data plan do you currently have for the USB800? Does your phone appear to be receiving a strong signal? Please let us know.

James,

I have an unlimited, flat rate plan that was grandfathered in when AT&T took over Cingular.  Yes, the signals are medium ( 3 -4 bars) but adequate.  Everything had been working fine with the USB Connect Force4G up until 2 weeks ago.  That's when AT&T tech suggested upgrading to the USB 800

Thanks

Hello @abbea,

Thanks for letting us know.

Unfortunately, we're unable to verify whether or not your current data plan is compatible with your device unless you can provide us with the exact name of the plan that's currently set up on your account.

However, we're glad to hear our tech support team has already verified that your current plan is compatible with your device. If your current plan wasn't compatible, they absolutely would have advised you to change your current plan to resolve this issue.

At this time, we recommend following the steps at this link to Troubleshoot limited or no connectivity on your device.

If you're still experiencing this same issue after following those troubleshooting steps, we advise you to kindly remain patient while our back office team continues to investigate your case.

Once the escalation has been completed, you will be notified with the resolution for this issue.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns in the meantime.

Hello @atthelp

Thanks for the follow up from Sean.

If I PM you the information on the account will you confirm what I have been told re compatibility with my account.  Not that I don't trust the Tech support team but this has been going on for two weeks and this forum seems to be more responsive.

Happy July 4th

Sunday Update  - For those that may go down the same path

So the USB800 comes with a default APN of "broadband" which should and usually does work.  Today I remembered that at one time I had "isp.cingular" and so I figured I would try it.  Bingo.  After two weeks and several modems from AT&T and many hours with Tech, I think I found the solution.  Anyway, I am connected to the Internet and the world is at peace (sort of) again. Now I just need to figure out if wap.cingular would do any better and if I can connect my USB800 to my Cradlepoint or TP-Link travel router.

Thanks again for the support

Cheers

Pat
