Travel to Puerto Rico
We are going to Puerto Rico next week and wondering if there will be roaming charges for our phone or is it part of their coverage?

You should roam free on Liberty. So far, no charges for AT&T customers after selling to Liberty mobile in October

Hi @Ccookie4, that's a great question!
There is wireless coverage in Puerto Rico. If you currently have roaming services included in your plan (as all of our unlimited wireless plans do) then you will be able to continue to enjoy your roaming services while traveling to these destinations similar to how you'd be able to roam while in Canada and Mexico, via our partner network Liberty.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for reaching out to our AT&T Community!

How do we determine if we have roaming services included in our plan?

@formerlyknownas I am going to Puerto Rico as well soon. Did you get charged roaming fees when you went?

We leave next Sunday!! I chatted with an AT&T rep online yesterday and she said it would be covered under our plan, but we do not have an unlimited roaming plan so I'm a little skeptical... Amazing that it's so hard to find this answer.

@HarrisP I did find out that Puerto Rico is considered off net so data is throttled. I’m still unsure of roaming.

Nothing has changed except that liberty now owns all of the towers that once belonged to AT&T in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. You will be roaming on Liberty for free. The limit is whatever your domestic plan allows.
If you have unlimited talk text and data then you have no limits on Liberty.
If you have a limited data plan, or are still on an old minute plan, without a text message plan, you will be charged just as if you were in the United States for any over usage.

Are calls and texts back to the mainland also included in the Unlimited plans or does it only cover the local island?
