Out of country text and call

My wife is a 1(251)-XXX-XXXX number. She is about to land in Sydney and then catch a flight to Melbourne where she will be for the next few weeks. I see the country code is 61 for Australia, but 61(251)-XXX-XXXX doesn't work because it's too many digits. I need 2 numbers to replace the '251' in order to have a 10-digit number to dial. Please help if you're able.

She is roaming with her US phone number which means you do not need to dial the country code. Just call her number as if she were in the US.
