No wireless service: no data connection and emergency calls only
Hey,
For a few days now I have had no internet connection using my data plan and all calls I try to make never dial. I have no dialtone and I get an "Emergency Calls Only" sign. I thought that low bars had something to do with no dialtone, but I visited an area in Urbana with 4 bars on my phone and I still have no dialtone. This is on my Samsung S4 Active. I've paid my bills on time. Is there an outage in my area (Champaign/Urbana, IL)?

There is no dialtone on a cell phone. If you can't make a call or get data, either there is an outage or your SIM card is corrupt or maybe your phone needs to be rebooted. If others in your area are getting a signal, then it is probably your SIM card is bad.

Wow thanks! I'm almost ashamed to say it, but all I had to do was restart my phone and I'm back with a dialtone and a data connection.
