No service at all in Capitola CA around 30th Ave and Brommer St

As mentioned in the subject, there is no service whatsoever in the area defined. It just says SOS. I tried restarting my phone and turning my cellular data on and off but nothing changed.

The AT&T coverage maps says this area is covered but this doesn’t seem to be the case. I was in the area visiting someone and they said it’s been like that for a while. What is the reason behind this?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Turn Airplane Mode on for a few seconds, then off again. This will force a connection to the nearest tower.
Try resetting your network settings.
- On iOS 15, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- If you're using iOS or iPadOS 14 or earlier, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- On Android, go to Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset network settings.

If those troubleshooting steps aren't effective for you, please have the friend who lives in that area reach out to us so that we can offer more personalized guidance. We will want to know the ZIP code in that area. With that information, we can check the towers near them.
