Network not working

what happens to my account when my phone is not receiving at&t network anymore? I purchase my phone from at&t and was still making payments on the phone and it was active, and the other day it just stop working, I went to the at&t store and I was told that my phone was not in their network anymore. I never receive any alert that this was going to happen. So I had to pay off this phone and buy another phone and start with another bill again. Not happy at all.

That makes no sense to me. Was your line cancelled or did they tell you your phone no longer works on ATT? Any phone you were still making payments on should still be compatible, so something doesn’t add up. Anyway, if all you did was upgrade to a new phone, nothing happens to your account.

My point is that I did not had to get into another debt when my phone was almost payoff. So I had to upgrade in order to have a working phone. (Any phone you were still making payments on should still be compatible) exactly my point. (if all you did was upgrade to a new phone, nothing happens to your account.) Yes only that I had to pay the phone that was not working anymore $97.00 and get into another debt with at&t in the amount of $599.00 for 36 month. Not happy.

I wouldn’t be happy either. Did the store tell you the phone was no longer compatible or did they tell you it was broken? What exactly quit working and what troubleshooting steps did you try? Phones do go bad so if there was something wrong with the phone, your only options are to repair it or replace it. What was the make and model of the phone that quit working?

That makes no sense to me. Was your line cancelled or did they tell you your phone no longer works on AT&T? Any phone you were still making payments on should still be compatible, so something doesn’t add up. Anyway, if all you did was upgrade to a new phone, nothing happens to your account.

Answer: I purchase this phone Galaxy A71 5G Model# SM-A716U approximately 1 1/2 years new from AT&T in installment plan for 36 month, a few days ago my phone stop receive calls and I could not make any calls, so I went to a AT&T store and ask why I can get or make any calls the guy said let me see that phone and and he said very clear to me oh! is that model phone does not work with our network anymore. I said I need a phone he said oh! you need to get another phone that works with our network. So I had no choice, but to upgrade and purchase another phone. About my account is that now I have to start making higher payments on a new phone for another 36 months.

Please be aware when you purchase a phone on installment plan that is going to be 36 months or more, because some model phones can stop working with the  networks of that company and you end up stuck up with that phone and still have to pay it off, if you own anything on it.

Hello, @margarita50! We understand your frustration with having to purchase a new device!

We have phased out of the 3G network, and the Samsung Galaxy A71 is a device that is no longer supported on our network. Furthermore, we understand there was an increase in the price, but want to ensure you have a device that can keep you connected to network with faster speeds and better features.

We hope this information was helpful, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.

@margarita50 Apparently @ATTHelp can’t read, your phone is definitely on the supported phones list. In fact it’s the very first phone on the Samsung part of the list. Whatever the reason your phone quit working, it’s wasn’t because it’s no longer supported. Here is the list, see for yourself:

Wow! you are right.Thank you so much for the list, I had no idea about this list. I am not making this up the guy told me my phone was not being supported by AT&T network anymore. My phone will work with WiFi at home, but once I left the house it will stop working that is why I took it to the AT&T store and that was the answer I got from the employee at the store.
