Is anyone with an iPhone 12 getting 5g?

I have a new iPhone 12 and I’ve been working with AT&T since Saturday. I am on the correct plan, we’ve tried switching Sim cards and other troubleshooting, but we cannot get the 5G service to work. Is anyone else with an iPhone 12 successfully getting 5G service?

Problem resolved! After a couple of days visiting an AT&T store and calling support, the solution was very simple! Their system was still recognizing the old iPhone 11 Pro. After updating the IEMI, everything is working perfect! Here is Dallas, 5G service is awesome!

Yes, I've seen posts form customers with new iPhones confirming they are getting 5G. Presuming you live somewhere that does have 5G coverage, it would appear ATT's 5G coverage isn't quite as extensive as their maps show. There have been quite a few complaints. The problem could very well be 5G coverage just isn't that good in your area.

The coverage maps are horrible and wonder if they border on false advertising. They show all of Long Island with 5G access. My wife's iPhone 12 barely ever connects to 5G. This is driving around for miles all around. Almost nothing. Wife is on Unlimited Starter with 5G access. Confirmed with ATT rep that line is provisioned for 5G. She even re-activated line. Tech support had no clue.

Its unbelievable frustrating as a customer for over a decade with ATT!!!

I’m in Dallas and the coverage here is showing great for the area. AT&T confirmed coverage. Even in the store, they could not get it to connect and everything on their end says service should be working.

@ljmallory Glad you got it resolved. Iphone imei’s normally update automatically so never considered that as a possibility. Good to hear 5G is working well.

I'm having this issue and the associate removed the SIM card, which I thought was odd but when I activated the service, I used the esim option.  He told me flat out that 5G isn't available although it shows on the coverage map.
