International Day pass Slow speed Japan

I am using the international day pass traveling to Japan and I keep getting very intermittent service. It keeps down grading to 3G. I had to turn off 5G and that seemed to have a more frequent LTE connection. At times it will just drop to No Service and not connect I will turn on and off Cellular multiple times or restart my phone and then it will connect to device LTE again. My friend is on the same network and is consistently getting a connection.

I have auto connect to best carrier and it regularly connects to Docomo.

I am using iPhone 14 Pro max eSim Att unlimited

The day pass has nothing to do with what carrier you connect to or what data speeds you get. It only controls how much you pay for roaming. You can try calling ATT’s international support number but there is likely nothing you or they can do about the intermittent service.
