Are you getting service at all? The day pass has nothing to do with getting service, it only dictates how much you pay for service. If you are getting no service, try rebooting your phone. If that does not work, go into cellular settings and see if you can select a carrier. If neither works, you may need to add the international pay per use feature to your line. Not having that feature can cause no service. If you can log into your account, you can add that feature online, otherwise you need to call.

I am back here in USA. Will not talk to anyone other than presidents office in ATT. Have someone call me from that office. I have had enough of messages and calls. Not going to waste anymore time. Sorry

@kzafar1964 No one from ATT is going to call you from your post here. If you want someone from the Office of the President to call you, file an FCC or BBB complaint.

I didn’t use for a second and when I was on WIFI, I chatted and spoke to several reps. no one could fix it. Everything is documented on record. They still would charge me $10/ day? Insane. FCC is tye way to go in this case

Hello @kzafar1964! We want to help. Let’s meet in a Direct Message (DM) to discuss the AT&T International Day Pass that was applied to your account.

Please check your Direct Message Inbox for a message being sent to you. Look for the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums page.

In case you want to know more about using your device with AT&T International Day Pass, check out Explore tips on using your device internationally:

What if I have a service issue when I’m traveling abroad?

Most international service issues can be solved by turning your phone off for one minute and then back on. For trouble using data, check to be sure Data Roaming is turned on in your device settings. If your service still won't work while traveling, call AT&T International Customer Care at +1.314.925.6925 (a free call from your wireless phone).

Make sure to keep an eye out on the DM. We want to look into this for for you.

If you did not use service, then you would not be charged. AT&T only bills you $10 per day (maximum charges are 10 days per bill cycle) on any day you send or receive a phone call, send a text message, or use data.

    In order to not use data, you would have to turn off data roaming in settings on your phone. If you did not, and your phone did use data while you were abroad, you are responsible for the $10 per day and charges.

If you do not want to use service and do not want to be charged, put your phone in airplane mode and leave it that way.

If you had data turned on apps will try to refresh data at certain intervals.  For example email apps will allow new mail to be pushed unless set to fetch new mail. Weather apps with update to current location.

Not true!   And not how it works.

International day pass does not do anything to facilitate your phone's Connection in another country.

All it does is limit how much you will pay to $10 plus tax, to the limit of your domestic plan. (which is why old limited plans cannot add Day pass)

It is entirely on you to bring a phone overseas that is capable of functioning on other networks. AT&T used to call these World phones.  Most flagships qualify.

If your phone does not connect in another country, you would not incur any charges.

If you did incur charges, the usage is on your bill and usage report.

AT&T has no idea you are even in a foreign country unless your phone connects to a foreign Tower and incurs charges which are then billed back on your AT&T service.

@dilipgupta

India does not allow Wi-Fi calling with AT&T, so that's not going to work.

Does your phone say no service?  Or has it picked up a local network?  It should say so in the top notification bar.

International day pass requires a world phone, and a domestic plan that is compatible which would include the past few generations of unlimited data plans.

You might try power cycling your phone, or turning airplane mode on and then off again, or going into settings and trying to select a local service provider.

You can contact AT&T 1.314.925.6925 free from your AT&T postpaid phone.

formerly known as, I see you advocating the company which is nice but at the same time, AT&T reps should not say” just take your phone and enroll in day pass, it will work with no issues.” How about addressing that?

@kzafar1964

Where does it say that?

It doesn't. In fact the information is loaded with disclaimers and comments about low data speed possible

https://www.att.com/international/day-pass/

It can't even be added if your plan is not compatible, it won't even show up in your online account as an available option.

And just because you had a problem connecting to foreign Service Providers does not indicate anything about International day pass.

Again, it does not permit/force/allow, make/facilitate, or prohibit/prevent/stop/block your phone from connecting to a foreign Tower.

All it does it limit charges when you do.
