Hundreds of EAS Test messages from AT&T

Me and my wife keeps getting hundreds of "Emergency alert monthly test" : "This is a TEST of AT&T Wireless Emergency Alerting System. This is a TEST 800027E6-15548E9"

It almost everyday and on every hour during the day.

I talked with AT&T phone support but they couldn't help me, their only solutions was to switch phone (I have OnePlus 2) or to block all regular ingoing and outgoing message to my machine ?!??!

Can you make it stop???

Thanks

Hello @atntclient,

Wireless Emergency Alerts are free text-like messages delivered to your device. AT&T does not create Wireless Emergency Alerts. AT&T delivers WEAs on behalf of the state or local Emergency Management Agencies. You can get device-specific Wireless Emergency Alerts opt out instructions on our device support article. Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

I am familiar with my phone setting and I already disable any possible EAS setting (disaster, amber etc..).

This is a network message that come from AT&T, it clearly says - "This is a TEST of AT&T Wireless Emergency Alerting System."

This should be taken care of on the network level.

Thanks

Hello, @atntclient,

We would love to investigate why your device receives the alerts almost every day. We are sending you a private message (PM) to help in this matter. Please check your forums private messages by clicking the Forums Inbox. Locate the PM from ATTCares and reply to the message with your specific account details.

What an utterly stupid reply. AT&T jn as screwed up the del oh very of these messages, sending them out with unnecessary frequency. Instead of telling people to opt out of a beneficial system, AT&T needs to fix the problem. I know, that requires actual work, but they might want to give it a try.

I'm getting lots of EAS tests from AT&T as well. I got one just as I'm typing this. They are annoying.

Last flurry of alerts was last week, though they say it's a "monthly test". As tests go, these looks like failures to me.

I receive 5-10 of these every week on Wednesday. Please post a real answer to your network sending these fake tests out. If you try to shut off the phone while they are alarming, it goes off for 20-30 seconds.

I have been receiving these test alerts as well. I do not want to opt out of actual alerts. How do I stop getting these test alerts?
