How to get AT&T to go check out one of their towers?

So, I've been staying at the Comfort Suites North in Fort Wayne, IN for work for just about every Monday for several years. I don't recall the mobile data speeds always being so shamefully abysmal, but the past maybe several months or possibly year, I have been forced to connect to my hotels wifi just so I don't lose my sanity from the not being able to essentially do anything because any video, any website, will take forever. And no, it's not interference from the hotel building material because I've tested several times outside in the open and it's almost exactly the same.

I can share the wonderful results too.

On the last picture, the first 6 are all results from this area, a couple of them are from inside the hotel.

The results for several tests were made with signal strength more like this

There is no way I know of to get ATT to check a tower. Besides, there are many possible reasons for those results and don’t necessarily mean there is any tower problem.

This is embarrassingly bad. This is what you would expect maybe out in the middle of nowhere! I live in a small town (Cedar Lake, IN) and my mobile data speeds can hit 150mpbs down, actually hit over 200mbps before, in town that is mostly surrounded by trees and tons of farm land.

So is there anyway of contacting them and telling them to do something about it? It doesn't matter whether I test at 3am when congestion is nonexistent, it's still absurdly slow and it's just this general couple or so mile radius. I drive a semi locally all through this city, with plenty of normal bandwidth, but once I get to the hotel area it's absolute garbage.

If you have any good reasons I'd be curious to know because, considering the area, the limited scope of area affected, and the fact that I've stayed here for years and never have had to deal with this, tells me something changed, and something should be done about it. I just wish there was a way to get AT&Ts attention on something like this.

All you can do is call customer support and hope it gets to someone that would actually check it out. There used to be a great way to report issues like that, the Mark the Spot app, but ATT abandoned that. You didn’t indicate whether your speed tests were over 5G or LTE but I’m betting whatever changed is related to the implementation of 5G and the shut down of 3G. The performance of the 5G network has not been great, there have been many similar complaints.

Hello dece870717, we're here to help you with data.

Rural areas tend to have weaker signals. One of the reasons, the distance you are from the towers. This means your home may get a weaker signal compared to the center of town. The reason, the tower may be optimized for town center since more people tend to be there.

Normally, the signal is not an issue in rural areas. But when it is, a key factor to think about is the terrain. If you are in a hilly or mountainous area, you may experience a weak signal, the reason, the signal is being blocked not only by the land, but whatever ground elements are there. You factor in building construction, especially those will metal roofs, you can understand why the signal may be weak.

Sign in to AT&T's outage site or enter your address to check for an outage

For outage alerts, sign in to your account and subscribe. If the above did not help or explain the loss of service, check to see if your area has towers or coverage in your area.

AT&T may temporarily slow speeds if the network is busy. This means during peak times, you may see slower speeds. We do this to make sure everyone has the best experience possible.

Feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns.

Well, apperantly something did change, or it's just some of what you mentioned about busyness and etc is true. This was my speed test right outside the hotel as I was leaving and walking to my truck.
