horrible cell service all of a sudden

Since Saturday I have had zero to one bar only and it is throughout my apartment community.  As soon as I drive my car off of the community I have 3 and 4 bars.  This doesn’t help me if I can’t even make a call from my phone.

Wireless service and the ability to make calls is more important than ever these days and we understand how perplexing it must be to all the sudden lose signal at home. We can definitely help you with dropped calls or weak wireless network signals.

  • Have you asked around to see if your neighbors have noticed the same change? We encourage you to use the AT&T Mark the Spot app to file a report to make our network team aware.
  • Because it appears to be suddenly happening on property could there be any new construction going on? With the changing Seasons - did you know weather, changes in foliage and terrain all play into fluctuating signal strength?

Most devices include features to help you stay connected with Wi-Fi in circumstances like this. If you have not already - go ahead and enable Wi-Fi Calling to use while in the community. If you're new to the service you can check out AT&T Device Support for help using it. Simply choose your device make & model, then choose Wi-Fi Calling under Calling & contacts.

Its unlikely you're device itself is the problem since your able to make calls when you drive your car off the community. However, you can always sign in to the AT&T Troubleshoot & Resolve tool, choose your device make & model, and select Phone calls under Service/network issues so we can run tests. Using TS&R will save time vs. calling a tech by phone for the same support.

Please give these options a try, and ask around to see if your AT&T neighbors are having the same experience. If the problem persists you can always reply back with your ZIP so we can check the towers around the community.
