Failed unlock
Hi I live in Canada and purchased an at&t phone off kijiji I made sure to check imei and phone is not reported lost or stolen yet the automated at&t website unlock service said “phone not supported anymore so no unlock code available" and I tried to unlock online and have been waiting over a week this is infuriating! If att sold the device they should keep the unlock codes in their servers until the device is unlocked this seems a bit off to me

Manufacturers have the code. When you request an unlock code all providers reach out and request the unlock code from the manufacturer. When the manufacturer no longer supports the phone they purge the imei and unlock codes. Has nothing to do with att Verizon or sprint T-Mobile etc
