Emergency calls only;S4;Travel outside US; error 'your SIM card can't connect'
I need help!
My phone is not getting connected to the networks in India. Bought the passport plan for $60 but my phone's giving error message "emergency calls only".
When I try to go the network settings & try to manually connect to networks one by one, I get the message, "your SIM card does not allow connection to this network".
I tried chat for 45 minutes with AT&T Tech support. They did not have a clue & kept trying stuff with no success, not even close.
Directed me to the international AT&T support number who can not come to the phone for 30 minutes & I'm calling them and on hold from another phone!
I can not believe that AT&T does not want to help its long-term valuable customers with this common tech support issue occurence.
Tech support guys dont know what to do and I dont know where to go to while travelling in India.
Horrible support from AT&T.... pretty much keeping up consistently with their low standards.

My wife has the same plan and same phone and same issue.
It clearly means that the issue is between the connection between the AT&T provided SIM card and the local carriers (Vodafone IN, CellOne, IDEA, Reliance). Somehow the local network is not identifying our SIM cards and hence our phones will not connect.
Anybody has any suggestions?
