Currently have International day pass for a Google pixel 3a xl that's a BYOD phone but cannot connect to at&t overseas, PLEASE HELP

Hello,

Could someone please assist me in figuring out why my husband's phone is not able to connect to an at&t service while overseas. He's currently in Ireland but eventually will be somewhere else but really need to be able to connect to service so he can call and text me. What does he need to turn on or off on his device settings to enable the at&t service on his phone??? Please, I would really appreciate the help.

ATT does not provide service in Europe. He should be roaming on a European carrier. Are you saying he can’t connect to any carrier? There is no AT&T to connect to, if that’s the question.

the day pass has nothing to do with the connection it only effects how your charged

How it works

While you’re abroad, you’ll only pay for the days you use your phone in over 210 destinations with International Day Pass^®.¹ During that time, you can:

Make unlimited calls back to the U.S., to the country you’re in, and to other countries included in International Day Pass.

How to use data, talk, and text internationally

To use cellular data, make sure Data Roaming is turned on in your device settings.
To call or send a message to the U.S., dial +1 followed by the 10-digit number. The “+” sign usually appears if you press and hold the “0” key on your dial pad.
To call or send a message to another country, dial + (country code) followed by the local phone number.
Some devices have settings that automatically add the correct prefix or country code when you’re calling numbers in your contacts. For iOS, turn on Dial Assist in your device Settings.
