Cell signal in Smithtown, ny

i moved to Smithtown, NY from Indiananpolis, IN. I had great signal for ATT in Indianapolis, but poor or no signal in Smithtown.

I am thinking of switching to Verizon.

do you know why there is poor or no signal in Smithtown, and surrounding area.

Hi @Nithis

Thank you for reaching out to us today. We're sorry to hear about the service issues you've been having but we'll be delighted to assist you. What zip code are you located in? Are you experiencing service issues today (July 4th)? What kind of phone do you have? Is this affecting calls, texts, data usage or all three? Have you tried any troubleshooting? With more details, we'll have a better idea of how to proceed.

I have very poor signal at home, and no signal at a store nearby.

I thought ATT is nationwide network and surprised to see poor or no signal

Hello there @Nithis!

Our systems show no service interruption currently affecting your area. However, if you haven't already, try resolving your experience by restarting your phone by powering your device completely off then on again. This simple action usually resolves issues like these and helps the phone run efficiently.

Also, please make sure to download AT&T Mark the Spot app which sends feedback that AT&T utilizes for network optimization and enhancements. Additionally, you will want to check whether there are any open apps in the background and close all apps if opened.

What's more, to help you stay connected we recommend you use AT&T Wi-Fi Calling which permits you to call, text, and use Visual Voicemail. If your issue persists, try our device support center which offers additional instructions which may help resolve your experience.
