Can't get connection in place that says has coverage

At my dad's I can't get coverage even though the coverage maps say I should have coverage.

Even outside in the front or back yards the coverage is poor with many dropped calls or not able to make or get a call or text message.

Att how can I get coverage at this address?!!! The maps say I do but I don't!

PrestonJB, from the lack of response from ATT"cares" you can obviously see that they aren't particularly interested in addressing your coverage problems.  As a representative of the ATT Office of the President" informed me "coverage maps are not a guarantee of service."   You'll be counseled to "reset your network settings" on your phone, use the "troubleshoot and resolve tool," use the worthless "Mark the Spot" ap on your phone and then finally they may suggest you upgrade your phone and then "you're free to try another carrier."  Ultimately, you'll have to decide if the markedly inferior (to Verizon) coverage problems are worth the expense of buying new phones and the losing your bundled discounts (assuming you have any).  ATT customer service is responding to the numerous customer complaints with the exact same remedies which of course don't do anything to make their network fit the "coverage maps."  I have been complaining about the same problem in a suburb of Nashville for two years and I finally filed a formal complaint to the FCC.  That turned out to be a waste of time too because the FCC just tells the carriers that they have to respond to the customer complaint; not that they have to fix it.  ATT is NOT going to fix your problems but they will have you wasted your time with the "remedies" listed above.  I'm share your frustration but I'm tied to ATT because my company phone is something I don't have any control of carriers.   One small caveat to using Verizon is that you can port your number and use a Verizon SIM card in a Iphone 6, 6 plus or 6S but it wont' work with any other iPhone.  I'm not sure about Droid phones however.  Prove me wrong ATT"Cares" and give PrestonJB and myself a viable alternative to your regular worthless "remedies."  It's the network, not the phones.
