Please ignore whatever support told you and refer to the list of unlocked phones which was recently updated.

How exactly is it going to get 5G when it is not a 5G capable phone?  There is no 5g hardware on the ROG 2.

Asus rog 3 and 5 get HD voice, no 5g.

Yeah it's not volte compliant so blame Asus for not getting it certified.  It won't get volte on most us carriers.

I just received the same email, and my device is a OnePlus 6. I knew about the Rog having the weird licensing issue, but what is preventing my OnePlus from being supported? And how long do I realistically have before I'll be forced to switch devices?

That phone was a hot mess from release like every other Asus ROG phone.  It still has a 1080p screen.  Refresh rate is not all that if it eats the battery to fast which it does.  I have a chance to get a ROG 3 to play with after the launch event so we will see if its improved over the first one.

The list of supported phones are right here

https://www.att.com/ecms/dam/att/consumer/help/pdf/Devices-Working-on-ATT-Network-After-3G-Goes-Away.pdf

And ATT is sending this out because there are areas they are shutting 3g off faster as they want the 850mhz space for low band 5g.  The full shut down date was jan 2022 but they seem to be going faster.

Okay, thank you for the response @GLIMMERMAN76

This looks like the final nail for me with AT&T.

Yeah the 6t I could get VoLTE on but that was it.  The 7 and 8 series work out of the box.

Yeah, the 6 is fully VoLTE capable, AT&T just won't enable it for most users. But the fact that it is capable, as is the 6T from your experience, but neither of those phones made the list is infuriating to me. And the fact that the S4 mini will still be supported is just extra salt.

No worries @fastm3driver allow us to help confirm if your device is eligible for use on our network.

First, feel free to review our device eligibility log to confirm if your device will work on our network when 3G goes away. We've confirmed that your device is not a 5G capable device, and will no longer work with AT&T.

We do appreciate your understanding, during this inconvenience!
