3-Way Calling While In Mexico

I’m US-based and have an unlimited plan which allows me to make calls/use data roaming while in Mexico, where I’m currently working remotely.

A big part of my job involves merging calls (so, calling someone, then adding a call and merging it to a three way call).  However, when I tried to merge calls to the US while here in Mexico, it didn’t go through - the “merge call” button was present but nothing happened when I pressed it.

Any (Edited per community guidelines) would be greatly appreciated!!!

'confrence' calling may not be included.

It's usually a limited service even in the United States, 750 minutes of conference calls in any billing period is considered 'excessive'.

Hi there, wclare. Let's look into your device's inability to use conference calling while you're in Mexico.

First, try resolving your experience by powering your device off for 1-2 minutes then back on again. This helps your device refresh its connection to the network.

You can find how to do that by visiting our AT&T Device Support Center. After selecting your device's make and model, choose Troubleshooting followed by Reset Device. While using our Device Support Center, you'll be able to View the user manual of your device which may contain instructions on how to complete a conference call on your phone.

Multi-party calling (Conference Calling) while roaming internationally is restricted, except for customers roaming in countries where an International Roaming add-on is not required, such as:

  • Mexico (feature is required to make calls back to U.S.)
  • Canada
  • Parts of the Caribbean

The feature is automatically included, at no additional cost, with most voice plans. On all AT&T Postpaid customer accounts 6-Way or Conference Calling is automatically provisioned.

Reach back out to us and let us know how it goes. As @formerlyknownas shared, anything over 750 voice minutes that use one or more features is considered excessive. This can result in termination of service or change of rate plans to one with no unlimited usage components.

If that's the case, and you've used the feature in the past, but it's not available now, then it's possible that we will need to invite you into a Direct Message for a more personalized solution.

Hey Lar,

Thanks for the advice!  I followed the steps to troubleshoot without success.  I've been able to use conference calling from the US with no issue, and I haven't exceeded or even approached 750 minutes used.

Please invite me into a direct message so we can resolve!

Thanks.

Thank you for trying those steps, wclare. Let’s meet in a Direct Message (DM) to discuss your device's inability to complete a conference call.

Please check your Direct Message Inbox for a message being sent to you. Look for the chat icon next to the bell icon in the upper right corner of the Forums page.

While there, we can continue this on the phone or via chat, if you prefer.
