What if I do not activate the prepaid sim card after it is delivered.

I ordered an AT&T prepaid SIM card, and when I ordered it I already provided all the information about my debit card.
So the $5.29 for sim card delivery has already been paid from my debit card.
But the problem was, when I placed the order, I was going to activate the AT&T prepaid plan, but suddenly I didn't need to.
The SIM card will arrive tomorrow. If I don't activate it even if I just get a SIM card, won't there be an additional payment?

What if I don't activate it?

Can I keep my SIM card and use it at will when I want to join AT&T again in the near or far future?

Or do I have to bring it to AT&T store and request cancel my order?

Nothing will happen until you activate the SIM card. As far as I know there is no time limit on when you can activate it. There is a 30 day limit to pay for a plan once it is activated.

@sandblaster Thank you for your answer. To be honest, I am currently using Verizon mobile. However, recently, I felt the internet speed is not fast, so I tried to change from Verizon to AT&T, so I placed the order. Accordingly, when placing the order, I entered my Verizon's account number and pin number to transfer from Verizon to AT&T while maintaining my phone number. In this case, only if I do not activate the sim card, can I still use the Verizon without paying more money to AT&T?

Also, even if this sim card is for transferring from Verizon to AT&T while maintaining my phone number, is it possible for me to give this sim card to my friend? He will enter the US 2 months later, and then he needs to open the Phone number.

Since you started a number port when ordering the SIM card, the port will complete when you activate the SIM card. Again, as long as you don’t activate, nothing will happen. I don’t know if there is any time limit on the port request, so unless you can somehow verify the port request has been cancelled, I wouldn’t give the SIM card to the friend.
