"We are sorry, your transaction has been denied. Please check [...]"
I am using AT&T PREPAID, $45 Monthly Plan. I want to "Make A Payment" and also to activate AutoPay. I tried on several different days using different browsers. I can specify my checking account and last four digits of my SS#, and then I get:
We are sorry, your transaction has been denied. Please check with your bank to determine the reason your transaction has been declined.
I do not think that this has anything to do with my bank, as evidenced by countless threads and posts describing this issue (just google for the error message), and also I cannot see how this can be possibly have anything to do with my bank as the message response is immediate. Please help. I want to Make A Payment and continue using AT&T PREPAID!

I don’t know for certain, but I don’t think prepaid uses your SS#
please call ATT to confirm.

Hi lizdance40, thanks for trying to help, but when signing up for AutoPay it explicitly asks me for the last four digits of my SSN, otherwise I cannot proceed, also the SSN is not the problem here, so I don't understand why I should call them. Problem is that after filling out everything and agreeing to the conditions etc I get the error message.

@lizdance40 The SSN portion would be for verifying the checking account. @akratz It very well could be your bank. Perhaps they have blocked all of these type transactions. Do you have a debit card? That might be easier to set up. You can also try setting up autopay by phone. Instructions here: https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/wireless/KM1022880
