Hello there, @chenhan, let's shed some light on the device lock request.

When the unlock request has been completed, you will receive a notification from AT&T that will provide further information on either request has been approved or denied.

  • How long has it been since you made the unlock request?
  • Have you checked your spam folder to make sure the email wasn't misdirected there instead?
    • Submitted unlock requests would sometimes extend past the 24-48 hour completion period.

One question we see often is, "Will my device work on AT&T's prepaid network?" This question is even more important given the sunset of 3G. Below you'll find information on how to check if your device will work on AT&T's 4G or 5G service.

You can access our AT&T Things To Know Portal for more information to see if your device has met all eligibility requirements to continue the process.

Let us know how this information works out for you. Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums.

Tagging ATT help doesn't really work.

The lock is on the phone for 6 months of continuous paid service.

Six refills does not actually add up to 6 months of service.

When you tried to unlock your phone using the computer portal, did it tell you you did not yet have service on this particular phone you are trying to unlock for a full 6 months of paid service?

Looks like the device you want to unlock is active on another AT&T account. The owner has to remove it from their account first. Did we get that wrong? If you're the owner, call 800.331.0500 or 611 from your mobile phone to confirm.

FYI, I got this message in the unlock portal and finally decided to call the number and they said it should unlock after 2 days, thanks for the help.
