Unlock GoPhone and I got denied to unlock
Unlock Code Denied
Hi There,
I bought a phone from Amazon US, that is locked on to AT&T and is
Nokia Lumia 520 (AT&T Go Phone) No Annual Contract (Discontinued by Manufacturer) and was a brand new one.
I am in South Korea and when tried unlocking it stated that "We can’t unlock this device because it hasn’t been active for at least six months of paid service.
You can submit a new request after six months of paid service."
Of course When I submit the unlocking process, I’m sure to click No on the top section stating “Are you an AT&T wireless customer?.
Is there a possibility of unlocking it immediately?
Thank you
S.Y Jung

Once again, no. No exceptions. Return the phone if possible. It will not be unlocked until it completes that 6 month requirement.

No. Gophones are sold at a discount, that is why there is a requirement for 6 months of use on ATT to unlock. There are no exceptions.

NO. The only way to unlock a gophone is to use it on the AT&T network for 6 continuous months before it is eligible for unlocking. There is no exception.

No. You were given correct answers. No service contract does not mean the phone is without obligation. Sold at a deep discount, it must be used on ATT.

You are wrong. "No annual contract" has nothing to do with whether or not the phone can be unlocked.

The phone you bought was provided free to ATT customers in return for your subscribing to 6 months of service. The fact that there is no contract means you may discontinue your subscription at any time without penalty, but to unlock the phone, you have to complete 6 months of service. You should not have bought a locked phone that you had no contractual pemission to unlock. That’s not your fault, whoever sold it to you maybe didn’t explain the rules. Usually, you don’t get something for nothing.
