Unable to add minutes to AT&T pay as you go phone

I am no longer able to add minutes to my son's iphone. I think it's because I let 90 days go by without adding minutes. How can I add minutes,  and if I have to get a new SIMS card, will he be able to keep the same phone number?

A prepaid account is automatically closed if the account balance is $0 for more than 60 days. It sounds like the account has been closed. If so, sorry the number is lost. You will need to open a new account with a new SIM card and new number.
