Retrieving cancelled phone number from abroad
My phone number just got cancelled (probably as I've been outside of the country for too long due to Covid-19 displacement), and I can no longer access my iMessages.
How can I retrieve my cancelled phone number?

You can’t. However, losing your number should not effect iMessages unless you deregister that number from your iCloud account.
