Restore eSIM after iPhone reset

I had to erase and restore my iPhone after forgetting my passcode. When I restored from my AppleID, the phone has "forgotten" the eSIM for my AT&T Prepaid line, and I don't have the original QR code. I have searched everywhere for help on this website and can't find a way to restore the eSIM myself. Can anyone help with this or will I have to go to a store?

Hello, @esimuser2022 we're happy to help with your eSim questions.

If you deleted your previous eSIM from your device. You need to replace the eSIM in your phone. Here's how:

  1. Go to your myAT&T account overview.
  2. Scroll to My devices.
  3. Choose Manage for the device that needs a new eSIM.
  4. Scroll to Options & settings and select Get a new eSIM.
  5. Confirm your selection to Get a new eSIM.
  6. Follow the prompts to complete your eSIM setup.

While setting up your iPhone, you might have to install an AT&T cellular plan. If so, follow the prompts to download your eSIM. If you didn’t install the cellular plan during setup, follow these instructions:

1.  Open Settings.
2.  Select AT&T Cellular Plan Ready to be Installed. (It may be inside the More for Your iPhone notification group.)
3.  Follow the prompts.

Don’t see a notification? You might have to activate your iPhone first.

Of course, you can always visit one of our AT&T store locations to pick one up. Try the steps above to replace your eSim, and feel free to reach back out to us if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
