Re-activate old nano sim card

I have an AT&T nano sim card which I used in 2014.  I will be in USA from August to October 2016.  I was wondering if it would be possible to re-activate the card with the same phone number so as to avoid having to advise all contacts of another new number.

Thank you.

No, once a SIM card is deactivated, it can not be reactivated. Presuming your sim was for a prepaid account, that account has probably been closed and the number reassigned. You will need a new sim.
