Putting AT&T on notice

My mother just passed away. I want to cancel her pre-paid phone which hasn't been used in over a year. AT&T's automated system does not recognize her number so I can't speak with a representative. The chat line does not have a human on the other end and only refers me to the automated sytem. There is no option to get a human being on the phone or contact AT&T by e-mail. Worst customer service ever.  Will never buy an AT&T product or use an AT&T service.

Are you sure it even needs to be cancelled? The system not recognizing the number may indicate it was already cancelled. To cancel prepaid, you just stop paying. If it hasn’t been used or paid for in a year, it’s cancelled. If it is still being paid for by autopay, cancel the credit or debit card used for autopay.
