Prepaid Online Account Access Issue - with Turbo Hotspot 2 - not receiving temp password from att system

  • Purchased a Turbo Hotspot 2 from WALMART, it was activated in store on a 50G data only plan.
  • Unit was unpacked and set up baced on included instructions, hotspot connected worked as it should.
  • Followed instructions for "Activate Your Account Online" in manual.  but unable because i do not have a password or pin.
    •   Walmart did not provide me a password or 4 digit pin when it was activated in store.
    •    So I followed the "Forgot Password" link to reset.  this reset is not working due to the following reason...
    •    System says: A temporary password was sent in a text message.Wireless Home Phone customers will receive a voice call (Monday through Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 12pm-9pm local time).
    • Its my assumption this "hot spot" can not receive TEXT MSG as stated by system responce. 
    • I have checked the hot spot msgs via the "WebUI Manager", but it has not received any.
    • I have check my personal Email address but nothing from ATT there.
    • I have been trying this for two days and no msg of any sort has been provided from ATT system.
    • I have called and talked to ATT rep, they said there is nothing ATT can do and i need to contact Walmart to correct the password/pin issue.
    • Then Walmart says i need to contact ATT.
    • So now i have a usless hotspot than i cant access to refill data.

So is there any way to reset the prepaid online password/pin when you have a HOTSPOT? whats the trick?

Gary is correct. When it comes to setting up a data only plan on AT&T prepaid the account should have been set up for you with your alphanumeric password created, pin code created, and all two-factor authentication set up to go to your email, not via text to the device which does not work.

An AT&T store should be able to help you out
