PLEASE DEACTIVATE MY PREPAID ACCOUNT

Hi,

I went on vacation in USA for two weeks. I bought a prepaid AT&T simcard availed the 45usd plan.

The salesman said that I just need to simply remove it from my phone when I leave USA to deactivate it.

I was out of USA for two weeks now and is not using the prepaid simcard sinceI left.

to my surprise, they charge me for another 45usd for another month.

can you please help me deactivate it and refund the said amount

Hoping for your immediate response.

I was not even enrolled in Autopay! I was surprised when they deduct the said amount in my credit card just yesterday!

@kcccantos This is a customer to customer forum, not customer support. Your options are to contact customer support to get them to disable autopay or get your bank/credit card to block the charge. You can contact support through this forum by sending a private message to @ATTCares.

I already sent private message but still no response as of this writing and I also called my bank but unfortunately they cannot stop it.

Just saw post here with same sentiments and was replied by the AT&T customer support, so just trying my luck here.

Best option is cancel the card used to prevent future charges.

Seems clear you did have Auto pay on.  Also clear you did not turn it off before leaving the USA.

removing the SIM card makes no difference as it can’t work out of North America.

You must stop paying to terminate prepaid services.

I did not even signed up for autopay and was not able to deactivate my
account as I was advised by the customer rep in AT&T store that I could
just removed the simcard and that's it.

I honestly don't know what to do now.
Waiting for their response on my private message.

Don’t wait.  They have a 1 to 2 week lag.  Please call your bank and have your card replaced.

@lizdance40 you mean to replace the credit card itself?

If your credit card won’t block the charge, cancel the card and get a new one issued.

This is what the prepaid screen looks like with auto pay OFF....

If you took the $5 discount, paying $60, $40, $30 with added tax, then you did sign up with auto pay.   (Plans are priced $65, $45 and $35)
