Hello @webdeveloper9333, we're happy to help with options to manage spam texts that are sent from your phone number.

This tactic to steal data or funds through texting has been dubbed "smishing." The term is a combination of the terms SMS, or short message service, and phishing, which is employed when scammers "fish" for your personal information via a fraudulent message.

Avoid installing the apps from unknown or unverified sources and follow these steps to manage spam texts using your phone number:

  • Forward the suspicious text to us at 7726. Messages forwarded to 7726 are free. They don't count toward your text plan. If you can’t see the number, forward the entire message to abuse@att.net.
  • Report spam and fraud text to us.
  • Send a suspicious text message to the Anti-Phishing Working Group at reportphishing@apwg.org.
  • Remove third party messaging apps from device to eliminate the risk of texting scams.

In addition, the AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security app scans your mobile device and all apps for malware. It looks for Trojans, worms, spyware, and other suspicious software. Mobile Security scans on demand and every time you download a new app. If you select Monitor File Settings, mobile security also constantly checks your files for anything suspicious like spam calls and texts.  Learn how to get AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for contacting AT&T Community Forums.
