My Phone bill is renewing after it's already been renewed

So my phone plan just renewed today, and the funds have already been removed from my bank account for it, and I got the usual text that tells me when it's renewed next and it says it's set for tomorrow.

It makes no sense, I haven't upgraded my plan or anything.

I have to agree with sandblaster, it sounds like it's working exactly as it's supposed to. Money is taken from your bank account approximately 2 days before your refill date. That refill money sits in your balance until midnight on the day that your plan renews and is then used to pay for your plan. It happens this way all the time, every 30 days. Perhaps you just have not noticed it before.

They took your money without permission?

If you or I did that to someone wed end up with a criminal record. When corporations do it- oops we're sorry. Doesn't matter the calamity that ensues from some who may have other bills to pay and the moneys not there.

Well they took out the money I knew they were going to, cause they alerted me ten days before that they would take it out on the 23rd.

After they take it out though they usually send me the next renewal date which is usually like a month away. This time it's tomorrow on the 24th.

So right now I'm just trying to understand if it's a glitch or if it's something else. So far everything's fine, and they haven't taken anything.

What makes no sense? If you are on autopay, that’s exactly what is supposed to happen. Your payment is made a day or two before your current plan expires so that the money is in your account to renew your plan immediately when it does expire. Your plan doesn’t actually renew until the current plan expires. Based on your post that would be tomorrow.

Well I understand that, I'm just trying to figure out if sending me this text is a new thing their doing just clarifying when exactly it's being renewed.

Cause usually they just take out the money the date they say they are, then the only text I get after the ones that say it's been a successful transaction is them texting saying when my next renewal date is

Thanks I get what Sandblaster was saying.

The only thing I was questioning was the text really.

Thanks for the help though, it made me think a little bit more on the text and what it might mean.

It threw me off since I've never gotten that text before, but I think I'm starting to understand what exactly it means.

Hello @Miafrommars ! We'd be more than happy to provide you with helpful information in regards to your concerns on your prepaid plan!

As previously pointed out in the thread by @sandblaster and @lizdance40 , your payment for the Prepaid plan renews when the current plan that you are on has expired. As far as the funds being moved from your account, it gets moved into your account's balance and is payed for on the day of the renewal date. For more information on our other Prepaid Plans & Offers, feel free to access the link provided. If you have any other AT&T related questions, please feel free to reach back out to us!

Let us know if this information was helpful! We hope you have a great day!

@Jovdiaz

So if i got this text today what does this mean.

It means that your account refill had to be made by the 5th to avoid Interruption of service. It also told you if you have auto pay set up that your refill has already been made and you don't have to worry about it

And if i have put money on the account and someone else has paid it too does the balance roll over

Funds in your balance will be used to pay for service. If there is more money in your balance than required to refill the plan you selected it will stay in your balance and be used the next time your refill is due which would be in 30 days or approximately January 5.

Your prepaid balance Works a  like a PayPal or venmo account.  Money deposited into your balance will be used to pay for service. But you also have another method of payment in the form of a debit or credit card.

Funds will be used from your prepaid balance first and only additional money will be drawn from your auto pay debit or credit card, if there is not enough in your AT&T prepaid account balance to refill your plan.
