Hey there @Placerfull, we understand you're needing to unlock your iPhone 8 plus, and we'd be happy to provide you with all details regarding our Device Unlock Process. 

 

First, you'll need to make sure that your device meets all unlock requirements

  • Your device is an AT&T phone or device and isn’t active on another AT&T account.
  • If your device was paid in full when you bought it (not on an installment plan). You don’t have to wait 60 days to unlock it.
  • Has a paid-off installment plan.
    • Paid through your monthly bill: Submit your unlock request at the start of your next bill period.
    • Paid off early: The wireless number assigned to the device must be active for at least 60 days. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit your unlock request.
  • Doesn’t have a past-due account balance. Make a payment to bring your account current. It will take 24 hours for your payment to post. 
  • Hasn’t been reported as lost, stolen, or involved with fraud.
  • Your device is an AT&T PREPAID phone that has had paid service for at least six months. Check your device for an unlock app and make sure it has the most recent version of the app. Don’t see the app? Submit an unlock request online.

Next, you'll need to submit your request online using our Device Unlock Portal: 

  1. Go to our device unlock portal.
  2. Select Unlock your device and follow the prompts.

Not with AT&T? We can still help you unlock your device. If the device works on our network, you’re covered.

 

To check your request status:

  • Check your email (including spam or junk folders) or text messages for updates on your request. If you don't have a wireless phone account, you have to select Confirm your request in the email we sent you.
  • Check your unlock status online and follow the prompts.

Keep in mind: 

  • It usually takes a few minutes to approve your request, but it can take up to 48 hours. Don't have a wireless phone account? Make sure you select Confirm your request in the email we sent you or request will be canceled.
