I ported my AT&T number to a different carrier. How do I know my account got cancelled afterwards?

I recently ported my AT&T number to a different carrier. I tried to log in to my AT&T Prepaid account to turn off autopay and then tried to call to cancel my account. I'm no longer recognized as an AT&T customer since my phone numbers aren't connected to AT&T any longer. Is there a way I can verify that autopay is off and I won't be charged? Why doesn't AT&T send an email or notification saying the account is cancelled and I will no longer be charged?

The fact that you can no longer log into your account is your proof. You can’t login because the account was cancelled. I have no idea why ATT doesn’t send some other notification but don’t worry, your autopay is cancelled. You won’t be charged.
