GoPhone Hotspot data expiration questions
I have a new GoPhone account for my new mobile hotspot.
The Plan renews May-23-2015 and the Current Balance ($0.00) expires Jul-22-2015.
I’m unclear about Plan Renewal date, Balance Expiration date, and how the balance is allocated.
I have 3 questions:
1) If I refill my account with $100 Jul-21, will that reset the expiry date to July-20-2016?
2) How much data does this $100 buy?
3) How long do I have to use this data, a year?
Thanks.

Hey there @smhuey
I’d be happy to help explain your new GoPhone plan, refills and any applicable expiration dates! Your GoPhone plan provides 30 days of service. Depending on which plan you choose, you will have a set amount of data, and a set rate to add an additional data allowance. Your plan will then expire after 30 days, at which point you must refill the account to renew your plan. Accounts which have not been refilled for 60 days after the plan expires will be deactivated. For details of how much data is included in your plan, and more information about costs and length of service, click here.
If you were to apply $100 to your GoPhone balance, this balance would not expire for 365 days.
I hope this helps!

Thanks Charise. It’s starting to come into focus but I still have questions.
If I apply $100 to my GoPhone balance, the balance would not expire for 365 days. I’m not sure what that means … I think it means even if the balance goes to $0, the account stays active for 365 days and I can refill it if I wish?
What happens after I add $100 to my balance? My plan renews May-23 – I’m not sure what that means. Does it mean my remaining 30-day data allowance expires and the plan is “renewed” with a $50 deduction (5GB data) from my account balance for another 30 days of service? And then again in another 30 days?
A little background to put my questions in perspective: I’ll be using the hotspot when traveling and the hotel or cabin does not have Wi-Fi. I figure I’ll need it for just a few months of the year. I’m looking for the most cost effective way to manage my account.
