Emergency Broadband Benefit

I recently applied for the ebb benefit plan. I received a email from lifeline 12/25/21 saying i had been approved and had until 3/25/2022 to register with a phone company. I then received a call from at&t stating i had been approved and received my approval number. Since i hadnt purchased a mobile hotspot yet at&t told me to call back after purchasing one. I then purchased a mobile hotspot device on 1/4/22 called customer service to get it activated and use my ebb benefit and they never even asked for my approval number  they just said it was too late cause the ebb program has been disbanded. Why am i not allowed to recieve my benefit when i had been approved before the program was over?

On 12/31 the EBB was replaced by the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).

Ok Im just unsure why the email said I had until 3/25/22 like as long as your enrolled before 12/31 you have until March to use it. Also when I spoke to att about getting a mobile hotspot I was not given a time frame to get one.

Hi Cehuffs89! Let's clarify the email you received regarding the retired EBB Program!

Customers enrolled in EBB as of 12/30/21 will continue to receive current benefits through March 1,2022. Your enrollment process was not completed by 6:00 p.m. (EST) on 12/30/2021, hence you are unable to utilize the EBB Program benefits.

We recommend visiting the ACP Portal as skeeterintexas suggested to check eligibility on the Affordable Connectivity Program or call 833.511.0311 for additional information regarding the ongoing transition between Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) and Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).

We hope this helps! Thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums!
