Can't send text from Canada

I'm on the $45 prepaid plan. And am now traveling in Canada. I can make and received calls and also receive text messages. But when I try to send a text message I get this back:
Cricket here! We are sorry but your text message failed. Your destination is not supported from your current location.
Now this is crazy because I'm on att. So where does cricket come in here? Maybe it's because I was with cricket 2 months ago, but then I ported over to Att prepaid, so cricket shouldn't be involved. I spoke to various reps but they couldn't help me and kept on transfering me around. My husband's phone is fine so I tried swapping my sim and his phone but it didn't help. His sim in my phone was fine while my sim in his phone can't send messages. the problem is with my sim or some setting within att. Crazy!

I called the porting department, they see no issues.
Why isn't @ATTHelp addressing the issue?

I contacted att support, after spending two hours on the phone with then they escalated me to a supervisor who opened a case. After not hearing back from them i called back two days later to find out that the case had been closed. They didn't contact me, the problems presist but they just closed the case.
So with no choice i contacted cricket via email. They were extremely helpful they called me to better understand the issue, and got a top of the line tecnition on the case. And guess what? he found the problem. He says that att didn't properly create my profile and the "MIND" still shows "cricket" as the provider. I don't understand what that means but he says that that is the problem. He tried contacting att for me but they didn't fix it. What do I do now?

Hello @Delulu!

I understand you have been dealing with a text messaging issue while you are in Canada.  I know how important it is to stay in contact with family and friends, so I will do everything in my power to assist you!

In order to further investigate; I will need a few additional details.  If you would please send me a private message to @ATTCares with your name and mobile number, I would greatly appreciate it!

I also want to make sure your APN settings are provisioned correctly.  Please have a look at this link, scroll to the bottom of the page and find “Correct Data Settings”.  After selecting your operating system, you will receive the correct settings and steps for your device.  Thank you for your time and patience in the matter!

Hope to hear from you soon! Have a spectacular Saturday!

Where are you in Canada?? Some parts and area of Canada still have no cell phone coverage!!!!
Did you set up your phone with AT&T after you left Cricket ?
Did you pick up Roger's wireless in Canada??
Did you try call 611 from your phone? If it is not pick up by AT&T,some setting is not right with your phone.
