Can't refill my account...

Error message received every time I try to reload my account:

 

We are not able to process your credit/debit or eCheck information. Please contact a Representative by dialing 1-800-901-9878 for assistance.

 

It is an interesting business model to not allow customers to make payments.  Even more odd is requesting that customers who are obviously unable to refill their mobile phone account make a phone call...

Sorry to hear you were unable to refill your account. If you have no way to call the 800 number at this time, please visit one of our company stores and they’ll be happy to get this resolved. You can go to att.com and click Store Locations & Appointments in the upper right to locate your nearest store.

I have had this problem for over 5 years, but as I only had a basic phone until 2 months ago, it wasn't a big deal to get a refill card once or twice a year.

 

Now I have a smart phone (which, to add insult to injury, was bought outright from AT&T), I have been trying to get this resolved for 2 months. I finally figured out how to talk to a real person 1 month ago and since then I have explained this issue no less than 6 times to 6 different people and it has been escalated twice.

 

I was assured that this issue would be resolved, firstly by the 10th Feb then after going through the whole process again because it was "sent to the wrong departemt" they said they would email me with a fix by the19th Feb. I get an email today (21st) from a NOREPLY address saying it is resolved....guess what...not even close!

 

Hope you have better luck...one more call tomorrow, then will be changing to another service.

It's really a shame.  AT&T seems to have the cheapest plans, but the amount of time and effort I have to put into managing a basic phone plan (talk and text only) is absurd.  Thinking I'll switch next month, once my plan runs out.

 

Good luck with your issues - let me know who you switch to and how the service is.

 Error! ATT.com
Hello, for the sake of confusion, I have experienced nothing but a malfunctioning website at ATT.com while trying to pay my wireless bill. Furthermore, ATT confirmed the issue in January, February and today. One would think it would be a lot easier processing $45!

There is no valid reason for this chronic problem as ATT is one of the largest carriers.

Aplogies notwithstanding, I hope no one else has to jump through these annoying hoops each month.

 Error!

 You have order in collection. No Refill can be done until it is resolved.

 

Bought my daughter a goPhone and have the same problem! Called customer service, who by the way, are in the Philippines, could do absolutely nothing. I gave them two credit cards to use and they could not process payment because of the error. they then left me on hold for 30 minutes for a supervisor who never came to the phone.

 

SUCK!
