Cancelling Prepaid service

OnStar has stopped using the 2G technology in our Tahoe - hence, no hotspot. I have Prepaid data every month FOR that hotspot that no longer functions. I need to cancel the prepaid plan. Can I do that ONLINE (as I subscribed on line)? Thank you.

Well - this account (the PrePaid) is for my iPad - and is valid. What I'm trying to cancel is another data plan.  This one is attached to my wireless bill and is about $25/month. Just started it a couple of months ago - now OnStar has terminated services. I think I'll probably have to call on this one - too many accounts, too many data plans, too hard to keep straight!!!

Yeah, you’ll need to call to cancel since it is a line on your wireless bill. If you ever do need to cancel the iPad plan, the way to cancel prepaid is to just stop paying.

Hey there @doerrway, we want to help make the process of removing Connected Car and PREPAID service as simple as possible.

You'll need to call in order to cancel your Connected Car line, however the number is different depending on your account type. If this is for postpaid service, you'll need to contact our Connected Car department at 866-595-1222. If you had Connected Car service on a PREPAID account, then you'll need to call OnStar support at 888-466-7827.

As for your PREPAID iPad plan, what our ACE @sandblaster mentioned is correct. Your PREPAID account will automatically cancel 60 days after your account balance runs out, so make sure to turn off AutoPay before by:

  1. Signing into your PREPAID account.
  2. Select Home > Manage AutoPay.
  3. Select End AutoPay.
  4. Follow the prompts to confirm this choice.

Let us know how this goes, and thank you for reaching out to the AT&T Community Forums.

@ATTHelp (Dylan). Your information is wrong. Only prepaid phone accounts cancel after 60 days. Prepaid tablet or hotspot accounts stay open much longer, I think it’s 12 months.
