Buy new phone, keep plan and number

Help! I am a current AT&T prepaid customer trying to buy a new prepaid phone and keep my current plan and number in the process. However, when I try to buy a new prepaid phone online, it wants me to buy a new plan as well. I have the plan and the phone number, I just need a new phone. Somebody please walk me through this and explain how it's done. Thank you!

Yes, AT&T makes it difficult.  My answer was shop at best buy.
