AT&T Prepaid questions - personal hotspots, quality, and how to switch from T-mobile?

Hi.  I am interested in AT&T Prepaid but I have two questions I couldn't find the answers to on AT&T's site.

(1) my partner and I both currently have T-Mobile GSM iPhones.  (Mine is an iPhone SE, I forget exactly which model hers is but it's a few years old.)  If we get them unlocked, can we switch them to AT&T Prepaid?  And how would we get them unlocked?

(2) With AT&T Prepaid, can I use the iPhone's "personal hotspot" feature if I'm out somewhere and need internet access on my laptop?  This works fine on T-Mobile and I would hate to lose this feature.  Can't tell if AT&T Prepaid allows it.

(3) Is the quality of calls and data the same on Prepaid vs. regular contract?

Thanks!

Yes  And how would we get them unlocked? You need to ask T-Mobile. Only T-Mobile can unlock a phone locked to them.

(2) With AT&T Prepaid, can I use the iPhone's "personal hotspot" feature if I'm out somewhere and need internet access on my laptop?  Yes but not all prepaid plans support hotspot. Currently, only the $45 6GB and $35 1GB plans support hotspot.  This works fine on T-Mobile and I would hate to lose this feature.  Can't tell if AT&T Prepaid allows it.

(3) Is the quality of calls and data the same on Prepaid vs. regular contract? I've never had prepaid service so can't say for sure but call and data quality should be the same.

Thanks!
